Massage also releases endorphins which are the body's natural pain killers. The art and science of massage modalities include ancient holistic practices that have been used successfully for thousands of years in many cultures spanning the globe...and they are still as useful for all of us today.
Healthy touch is necessary for proper growth and development. I am a very gentle body worker/massage therapist. I do not believe that I have to hurt you to help you. Pain is the body's way of saying "Something is wrong! Stop that!" There is much recent research that shows that very deep massage work actually causes inflammation, and it is intuitive to me, that if someone is in pain, my goal is to reduce inflammation.
My sessions are often a blend of modalities and I work in the present moment; each session will vary...each client receives the work that they need to enhance their well being. Our sessions are rarely the same as each moment in time is varied as well.
